Last night was Damien's last cell meeting. We affirmed him - with most of us commenting on what a great encouragement he was to most of us, and how his passion for God spurred us on. Although Damien had only been with us for less than a year, yet his presence was indeed a breath of fresh air to the cell. He has always been the hyper restless one, injecting much-needed liveliness into the occasionally boring cell meeting. Haha.
After affirmation, the cell presented Damien with a pretty purple Bible with an embroidered cross on its cover. And no, Damien, I did not embroider it. I'm not that good. :P If that didn't get him crying, I don't know what will. Throughout the months that I have known Damien, it is obvious that the passion of Christ shines in him like a light tower on a night-stained sea. I have rarely come across such burning passion, and it is refreshing to meet someone like that. He reminded a lot of us of our first love with Christ, which I believe is what we need to do the things of God. It is love that drives us. As the Apostle Paul said "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13).
To Damien, may you bring the light of Christ that burns brightly in you wherever you go, so that all who see you may see the glory of Christ reflected in you. Share your passion with everyone so that they can rejoice with you in God.
When the old goes, the new will come. The last cell meeting of Damien was the first cell meeting of Stephanie. She said she had a blast in cell. Yay Stephanie!!! :D While we wish Damien our very best, we also warmly welcome Stephanie into our cell. She'll balance the excessive testosterone levels in our cell with some estrogen. Haha.
