Damien's Departure

The six of us, which includes Jon, Jin, Jen-Sen, John-Aidan, Boo, and I meet up at church at approximately six am. From there we drove straight to LCCT in two Kelisa’s at the speed of 140mph. Syiok betul! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to drive as I surrendered my car to the hands of John-Aidan. Honestly, I was quite worried about him driving because he, Jen-Sen and Jin had a male bonding session throughout the night without getting a single shuteye.

But God’s protection was definitely with us as I’ve prayed really hard before arriving at church. It took us about an hour to reach our never-ending destination to LCCT. We drove from dark to dawn hoping to make it in time to see our friend and brother when suddenly John’s phone rang. Damien’s flight got called and we hurriedly drove to LCCT as fast as a speeding bullet.

With God’s perfect timing, we made it there on time. We looked around the airport aimlessly for Damien until we spotted a boy with dark blue jacket and a cap seated outside of McDonalds with his family. We ran towards him and had a quick chat and Jon our Tai Ko (It’s a long story) said a short prayer for him and each of us including his family members said our last goodbyes and gave him a hug before he board.

We left the airport at half past eight and headed back to PJ for breakfast. After we had a wonderful breakfast together at Sect 14, Jon took Jen-Sen back home and the rest of them tumpanged my car back to church. Unfortunately, we arrived back to church half an hour late. But it was a great three hours of time spent together!

To Damien, if you’re reading, this was how much you’ve impacted our lives that we’re willing to sacrifice our sleep just to see you. We pray that you’ll continue to impact the lives of the people there and continue to be a blessing. Keep the fire burning in you!
