After Love Is In The Air party!
We planted the seed. Pray that God will water the precious seeds sown so that they may grow and flourish.
As party coordinator, I'm relieved that the party's over. Haha. Was rather stressful planning the entire event. I couldn't have done it without the help of my faithful cellies. :-)
*HUGS!*

Cell Christmas Party preparation
Theme is Love Is In The Air - so come dressed in red or white. There's gonna be lotsa lurve to share around. Hehe.
We'll be meeting again this Friday to firm things up! In the mean time, keep praying. This isn't just an ordinary party. It'll be a place for people to meet God and know the love of Christ. We can plant the seed, God will water it. Let's claim God's promises for salvations!

Another Day Without a Cell Leader
everything was a disaster,
there were disagreements
and most of all
a birthday was forgotten.
I am just kidding. I was just trying to scare Boo!
It was not chaotic, disastrous and there were not any disagreements. The boys in cell just had a tough time making decisions, but finally managed to sort out the Christmas Party plan. Although, not everything were fully delegated.
A birthday was not forgotten as well, because it was Stephanie's birthday! We did a Sect 11 and Taman Desa tradition where we switched off the lights and the birthday cake magically pop out. But a birthday was forgotten, I am not sure whether most of you are aware but yesterday was also Gideon's birthday. Go and wish him a belated birthday if you have not. He cannot make it to cell because he was having a time of his life in Genting. Isn't he 21? *waggles eyebrows*
On yesterday itself there were first timers doing ice-breaker and worship. Sha-Lyn did the ice-breaker, while Jin did worship. They did a great job, although I think Sha-Lyn's ice-breaker was a bit ganas, while Jin worship led in a very different and unique style. John-Aidan and Jen-Sen did word and they did a fantastic job although it ended up interestingly.
Before we left, Stephanie's grandmother cooked and bought some yummy food to feed us for Stephanie's birthday. There were meehoon, fried rice, curry cockles, curry chicken, some kuih jelly thing and our favourite was the satay! I am sorry I did not take any pictures but the food was scrumptiously delicious!

why do you believe in Christ?
Although we may not know the A-Z details of every book in the Bible, the least that we should know at the tips of our fingers is the reason for our faith in Christ. If we don't even know that, how can we share our faith confidently with non-believers? I cannot stress how important it is to know why you believe in Christ. If you've never thought about it before, go home, take some time off and meditate on why you really believe in Christ.
One's faith cannot be borrowed from one's parents. If you are a Christian just because you were brought up in a Christian home - but you do not have the deep, heart-felt assurance of your faith in Christ, you need to re-evaluate your faith. This understanding encompasses all aspects of your self - intellectual, emotional and spiritual. Once you have that, your spiritual walk will be so much more exciting because there is a purpose to everything that you do.

Great job!
Hope to see all of you at cell tomorrow. There's something EXCITING that I wanna share!

A Day Without a Cell Leader
Nevertheless, everything from ice-breaker to refreshments was well planned beforehand for this coming cell. Good job, Jen-Sen! It seems that Boo's prayers were finally answered because some of the members in cell are rising up to be leaders!

Spiritual Parenting model
Stephanie was ill a few days ago, so we had cell at Campus Town. A newcomer came to our cell, brought by Cathy. Praise God! :D Through our sharing and testimonies, I pray that her heart would have been opened just a little bit more to God. She also came to church for the first time today. Continue to pray fervently, and God will work miracles. All we have to do is plant the seed; He will water it.
There was lots of drawing in cell. Haha. First, the icebreaker involved us drawing our own symbol which represents what our life has been. That revealed rather interesting and insightful symbols by some cellies. During cell lesson, we also drew our Tree or River of Life, where we marked out significant people or events in our Christian life. In a way, pictures really do tell more than a thousand words. There is something about drawing which unveils the deeper, subconscious levels of our mind that can never be uncovered by mere words.
Today, a bunch of us went for the first part of the Spiritual Parenting course, taught by the Singaporean pastors who were also the speakers at this year's Cell Conference. Tomorrow is part 2 - a long six-hour class. This is indeed an exciting time of transition - where our church moves to the other side (a phrase that's quickly turning into GT jargon, meaning 'the next level'). That is also my wish for the cell. We have actually been transitioning rather quickly from the Exploration stage to the next stage, spurred on by conflicts within the cell. It is through conflicts and resolutions that the cell grows, as we become more familiar with each other.
We are ALL meant to be spiritual parents - discipling others as in the Great Commandment (Matthew 28:19-20)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.It is not converts that the Lord commanded us to make - it is disciples. Every single Christian, whether you are a cell member, cell leader or senior pastor, is a royal priest, interceding to God on behalf of others (1 Peter 2:9)
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Those are the basic doctrines of the Spiritual Parenting model. Tomorrow, we will learn in more detail the rest of the SP model. Stay tuned!

The After Party
After John’s party some us went for a short yum cha session at Boon Boon CafĂ©, Taman Desa. We went on two separate cars; Boo drove her Kancil with John-Aidan and Jen-Sen, while I drove my Kelisa with Noel, Jin and Cathy. We had some drinks and chatted for a while and left because it was getting late. We got back to the respective cars that we came in and drove everyone back to their individual homes.
I was suppose to drop Cathy off first at her apartment in Sunway and missed the left turning towards Sunway Lagoon Resorts and ended up in Shah Alam. We tried to find our back to Sunway but failed miserably. I drove around Shah Alam aimlessly looking for a way out and as far as I’m concerned, Shah Alam is a huge city. We got lost around the factory area to be precise. When we finally found an opening to the highway leading towards Subang Jaya who is supposedly neighbours to Sunway we ended up in Shah Alam AGAIN. I even tried asking for directions at every stop at the toll and passerbys at the petrol station.
It was getting late and the clock strikes one o’clock in the morning and we still haven’t found our way out yet. We were all exhausted but I have to keep my mind focus because I’m the driver and their lives depend in my hands. I somehow wished Noel and Jin could drive but they couldn’t because Jin doesn’t have a license and Noel has a phobia of driving. Throughout the journey, we were listening to Mix FM on my radio until I switched it off because I was overly stressed. Jin then turned on his phone and played some Korean songs.
The moment we thought that we’ve found our way out, we realised that we’re still in Shah Alam. We’ve been driving in and out from Shah Alam three times already! Jin tried to break the tension in the car by saying that maybe there’s a reason why we’ve been rounding Shah Alam and he said that maybe we’ll have a future cell member who lives in Shah Alam and it’s God’s way for us to get used to the familiarity of Shah Alam. It was then that we realised that we need God after all. Everyone in the car got Noel to lead us in prayer. Soon after that, Jin’s mum called and Noel got a chance to speak to his mum and asked her to pray for us as well.
With God’s providence, He led us to the right direction and found ourselves in Subang Jaya once again and slowly found our way to Sunway. It was two something in the morning when we finally dropped Cathy off safely. I was so relieved and I headed straight to drop Jin off at Bukit Jalil and then Noel at Old Klang Road. It was exactly three o’clock in the morning when I arrived home. Praise God for his protection over us and also providing us with wisdom to find our way out!

a series of surprising events
Thankfully, we found her walking, picked her up, and went back home. We continued playing cards amidst the drama playing in the shadows of unspoken words. I know I'm being too recondite here, but any more details, and I will probably get stabbed by stares sharper than icicles.
Here's to John Chong's birthday party on Sunday. All cellies - celebrate! :D
p.s. See you at Spiritual Parenting training. And no, I didn't con you into going. ;-) The deadline was up and the lady wanted cash!

Sept birthday celebrations
Back to earth...today, Jin, Abigail and Noel helped Stephanie to move her stuff from home to her university in Semenyih. John and I were just in time for the pool party. Haha. Sorry we couldn't help you move, Steph, but I'm sure those three were more than able. ;-) We had a ton of fun playing frisbee in the pool along with Steph's uni mates...well, Noel and I were more like frisbee collectors as we just stood outside the pool and flung the frisbee back into the pool whenever they flew outside the pool. I was feeling a little ill - had a fever yesterday, hence my decision not to go swimming. After that, we went out for dinner. For the first time in my life, I drove myself back home after dropping John without getting lost! Yay!
Keep praying for God to move the cell and its members to greater heights.

college retreat 2008
We had a WONDERFUL time at the college retreat! It was held from 12-14 September at Le Paris, Port Dickson. For the first time ever, the college retreat was held at a hotel. Usually, it's always been held at dorms. Stephanie, Abigail and I were in the same room, while John-Aidan, Jin, and Jensen were in another room. Noel roomed with Jon Koo.
This college retreat was a really diverse retreat, with half of the campers comprising Africans. They took over the worship spontaneously on the first night, and subsequently worship-led for the rest of the sessions. Their worship released a breath of fresh air into the camp. They helped move the campers into a higher level of free, uninhibited worship with their joyous dances and shouts of praise. It was as if they were like David, who stripped off his kingly robes and danced in the streets naked praising God, totally free of inhibitions. Now THAT is worship! :D It'll take some time before most of us Malaysians can release our inhibitions to praise God. As Pastor Julie said, most of us are still conscious when we worship God. So, we restrict our movements. Instead, she exhorted us to worship freely, just like how fans automatically give their loudest shouts and wave their hands in the air when their favorite football team wins. Indeed, we should all learn a thing or two from our fellow Africans. Worship like no one is watching!
On the last night, Steph, Abby and I tried to pull some pranks on Jin and Jensen. Haha. Didn't work out though...we had fun trying anyway. ;-) As Abby's birthday was on Sept 13, we celebrated her birthday by presenting her a cube of cake and singing Happy Birthday, Abby! right after the night session in the ballroom.
Besides all the fun and jokes, we felt the presence of God in this camp. It is my wish that all of us cellies who were there at camp will take the lessons learned and relevations received at camp back home, to apply at our colleges, workplaces, and daily life. Then only will the camp be meaningful.
See you all at cell this Friday night! Bring your friends! There will be testimony-sharing and birthday celebrations. Don't miss it!
Love,
Boo

Cell Outing, One Utama - 050908
We ate at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng for dinner and chatted, trying to catch up with everyone’s lives. Before we left for bowling, the boys joked saying that Boo should pay for all their meals. Haha.. Poor Boo.. getting poke fun from the boys every now and then. This is what happened when we are lack of estrogens!
We headed to U Bowl after dinner and coincidently most of us have not been bowling there before. We are used to Mid Valley’s glow in the dark look with disco music blaring loudly. But this is something different that we ought to try.
We group ourselves in two groups that was lead by Boo and I. Boo’s team consists of John-Aidan, Samuel and Gideon, while my team consists of Jin, John Chong, Noel and Ivan. Before we began we bet that the losing team will belanja yum cha.
Most of the boys claimed that they suck at bowling, but to my amazement they were really good at it, especially Gideon who injured his right hand finger and used his left hand to bowl instead. I am not sure whether they are trying to be humble, lucky or they are just trying to impress the girls. *winks*
Soon after our first game was over, Jon Koo aka Tai Ko came and joined us. But unfortunately, Gideon and Ivan had to leave. We embarked on our second game hoping that we will get better but some of us did not perform as good as the first game. But nevertheless, my team won for the consecutive two games! Boo, your team still owes my team yum cha! Haha!
It was almost close to midnight but we stayed on and played arcade games instead. Boo and I felt like we are in the boys club and went along with all their plans. We acted like a bunch of school children playing all sorts of games especially Daytona USA my personal favourite.
We left One Utama at past twelve and most of us are dead tired. But we had an awesome night together and it is been a while since we had fun! Coming up next is College Retreat!!

Healing Encounter Friday Night and Saturday Service
In the Saturday service, he preached an amazing message from Psalms 37:1-7
1 Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
He gave us 7 pointers on how to live our lives:
- Do not fear
- No envy
- Trust in the Lord
- Do good
- Enjoy the Lord
- Commit all your ways to God
- Rest in the Lord
And that is how we should always trust in the Lord. Haha.

Healing Encounter 2008 - Day 1
I was the only one in cell that attended for last night’s Healing Encounter. Rev. Dr. Bernard Blessing delivered a powerful message as usual and I was amazingly touched by the word. Before he started his sermon he made us repeat the word John 6:16 until it got stuck to our thick skull. He is such a joker!
16When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. 20But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." 21Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading. (John 6:16 -21)
John 6:16-21 was his message. Since you guys did not come I shall try to share with you the powerful message that was preached. First of all, he told us that we must always listen to a message in church attentively and not let our thoughts drift away because that is how the devil tempt us and prevent us from listening to His word and receive it. Meaning, no sleeping during sermons, smsing, thinking about boys/girls, going for toilet breaks five times in a row and etc. I’m not kidding!
The entire verse demonstrated our life problems, whether it may be our health, family, work and etc. While Jesus went up to the mountain and pray, his disciples left him for a cruise. The disciples are just like us when are so comfortable and carefree with our lives that we forgot about Jesus.
Rev. Dr. Bernard Blessing told us that we must not be too comfortable with our lives and neglect Jesus alone to pray. He encouraged us to join Him in prayer whether or not we are having problems. On and off he reminded us that the devil would always be there to tempt us with negativity while we are busy praying.
After his powerful message was shared, he prayed for healing and deliverance for the congregation to rebuke the works of the devil in our lives. He even made us pray non-stop to claim the victory for Christ. When he ended the service, he highlighted to us that we must never be in a hurry to go home after service. We must always stay on to the very end to receive the prayer of blessing from the pastor. He said that it was also the most important part of the service and it will make a huge difference in our lives.
If possible come tonight because according to Rev. Dr. Bernard Blessing it is going to be much better than yesterday. See you in church!

more than conquerors!
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. We have a race to finish here, and to finish well so that we can win the crown of righteousness. God did not save us just to attend cell and church every week - He called us for much greater things than that. Not all of us may have to rise up as leaders, but rise up in whatever way you can! Reach for greater heights in your walk with God. God has granted each of us unique talents. It is our task as cell members to support each other to go up one level in our walk with God, to continuously be transformed from glory to glory.
That is what I want our cell to be - for all of us to mature as Christians. When we love God, we will love His people and be passionate for them. Even a simple sharing of the gospel with a friend or a stranger is a new height to achieve in your walk with God, especially if you rarely share the gospel. In short, the cell lesson can be summed up in Romans 8:37,
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.After the lesson, there was an interesting debate on why such a loving God would create us, only to know that most of us will fall and go to hell. Some found that very hard to reconcile. God loves us, that's why He created us with a will to choose whether to love Him back or to reject Him. What is love if we are programmed to do so? When we are tested, it is then that we show God whether we truly love Him or not. As Stephanie mentioned, we have equal capacity to do both good and evil. Most of the time though, we choose to do evil. So, although it hurts God very much to know that a lot of us will end up in hell because we choose not to love Him, He still chose to give us free will anyway because us loving Him will mean something.
A little reminder: to all of you who have not yet signed up, sign up for COLLEGE RETREAT! It's from 12 - 14 September (Friday till Sunday). Departure for PD is on Friday evening, so you can go right after class.
Next week, cell will be in church where Rev. Bernard Blessings will conduct a healing rally. This guy is one anointed pastor - he can cast out demons and heal the sick. Truly a miracle worker. Don't miss him out on Friday night! Invite your friends to come! Since we had already discussed about having monthly cell outings, and all of us had decided on bowling, we'll go bowling on September 5th (if the church leaders give the green light, fingers crossed :) To those who wanna play futsal, we'll play that in October as Stephanie will be in Hanoi on September 5th. Gives me more time to decide whether I wanna play or not. Haha.
That's all for now...I'm gonna fall asleep in my meetings tomorrow if I don't sleep now...I will be getting a new Kancil soon. Yay! Will be able to drive to Steph's place for cell and Abigail can rest from sending me and some other guys back home every Friday night. Abigail - really appreciate your sacrifice. ;-)

answered prayers!
Her house is lovely and she is an excellent hostess, making sure we're well-fed. Haha. It's not official yet, but God willing, it seems that we have already found ourselves a nice place to go to every Friday night. And soon, its light (and noise) will shine in the entire neighborhood as a house of God! :-) I am just extremely excited! There have been so many changes happening (and are still happening as I take the cell under my wing). With God's grace, He will see us through right till the very end as we become transformed from glory to glory, winning souls for the Lord and growing stronger and stronger in our faith each day.
Today, I shared the gospel with someone while waiting for my cue to start playing the part of an abused wife. Haha. I thank God for the opportunity to share and I can only pray that God will water the seed that I have planted, and bring another person to harvest that seed.
To all my cell members who are reading this, go on and share the gospel with people you meet - be they friends or strangers! Do something caring for them and they will see the love of Christ reflected in you. Keep on persevering!

Beijing Olympics!
A tremendously exciting time!
Please pray that God's presence will be at the party, and that the newcomers will enjoy themselves so much that they'll want to keep coming to cell.
Thanks for all your prayers.

Cell Conference 2008
Acts 1:8 declares "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."We do not need to be afraid that rejection will come. Of course rejection will come! But it doesn't matter. When we face ridicule or indifference, it is not us who are being rejected; it is God whom they reject. Let's start to concentrate all our mind, heart and soul on saving the souls of two people. When they have accepted the Lord, then we can focus our efforts on discipling them so that they in turn will reach out and share the gospel with other people. This is not impossible. Take it from me. ;-)

Damien's Departure
But God’s protection was definitely with us as I’ve prayed really hard before arriving at church. It took us about an hour to reach our never-ending destination to LCCT. We drove from dark to dawn hoping to make it in time to see our friend and brother when suddenly John’s phone rang. Damien’s flight got called and we hurriedly drove to LCCT as fast as a speeding bullet.
With God’s perfect timing, we made it there on time. We looked around the airport aimlessly for Damien until we spotted a boy with dark blue jacket and a cap seated outside of McDonalds with his family. We ran towards him and had a quick chat and Jon our Tai Ko (It’s a long story) said a short prayer for him and each of us including his family members said our last goodbyes and gave him a hug before he board.
We left the airport at half past eight and headed back to PJ for breakfast. After we had a wonderful breakfast together at Sect 14, Jon took Jen-Sen back home and the rest of them tumpanged my car back to church. Unfortunately, we arrived back to church half an hour late. But it was a great three hours of time spent together!
To Damien, if you’re reading, this was how much you’ve impacted our lives that we’re willing to sacrifice our sleep just to see you. We pray that you’ll continue to impact the lives of the people there and continue to be a blessing. Keep the fire burning in you!

Farewell, Damien. Hello, Stephanie
After affirmation, the cell presented Damien with a pretty purple Bible with an embroidered cross on its cover. And no, Damien, I did not embroider it. I'm not that good. :P If that didn't get him crying, I don't know what will. Throughout the months that I have known Damien, it is obvious that the passion of Christ shines in him like a light tower on a night-stained sea. I have rarely come across such burning passion, and it is refreshing to meet someone like that. He reminded a lot of us of our first love with Christ, which I believe is what we need to do the things of God. It is love that drives us. As the Apostle Paul said "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13).
To Damien, may you bring the light of Christ that burns brightly in you wherever you go, so that all who see you may see the glory of Christ reflected in you. Share your passion with everyone so that they can rejoice with you in God.
When the old goes, the new will come. The last cell meeting of Damien was the first cell meeting of Stephanie. She said she had a blast in cell. Yay Stephanie!!! :D While we wish Damien our very best, we also warmly welcome Stephanie into our cell. She'll balance the excessive testosterone levels in our cell with some estrogen. Haha.

Welcome!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:11, NIV)Join us on this race and let us finish it well so that we can hear our Master say "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
Love,
RK Boo
